The Lower East Side Librarian Library of Congress Subject Headings of the Week for Week 7, February 16, 2011 are:
(C) 150 Access to knowledge movement [May Subd Geog] [sp2011000402]
450 UF A2K movement
450 UF Knowledge access movement
550 BT Social movements
Defined in the warrant, Access to knowledge in the age of intellectual property "The A2K movement raises fundamental questions about the conception and production of ideas, goods, and services created in the current knowledge-based economy and about access to such ideas, goods, and services." Great subject, great heading, but as usual, I wonder why some new ideas are fast-tracked at SACO and others aren't.
(C) 150 Gay pornography [May Subd Geog] [sp2011000434]
450 UF Gay male pornography
550 BT Pornography
550 RT Gay erotica
Seriously? They're just getting around to this one now? See my complaint above! The oldest of the warrants listed is from 2004 and titled Gay Male Pornography, so even if you don't want to go back to the rise of gay porn, you could at least justify SACO establishing the heading seven years ago. Btw This heading was proposed by…the Leather Archives & Museum ♥.
(C) 150 Mouseketier (Musical instrument) [May Subd Geog] [sp2011000395]
550 BT Electronic musical instruments
