Dear New York readers of this blog,
If you didn't get to see XY(T) while it was at the Fringe Festival this past summer, you might want to take advantage of this second chance. It's at WOW Café through January 31.
WOW is a collectively run women's theater on downtown theater row. (I call 4th St. between 2nd and 3rd that, anyway. Don't know if anyone else does.)
XY(T) is a one-person show about a transgender man, that is beautifully staged, well performed, and has a lovely writerly arc to it. What was also really interesting to me about the piece is what seemed to me to be a different motivation behind the protagonist's gender choice than you normally hear about. Plus Kestryl is a zinester, so I like him extra for that!
